4 Ways To Take Your Home Decor To The Next Level

When you are decorating your home, or even looking at adding new decor, you want to be sure that you do what is right for you, and for your home. However, do you know what to look at first, and do you know how to take your home decor to the next level? What can you do to improve the design and decor (even on the smallest of budgets)?

1. Be Bold & Make A Statement

Your home is the place you love of course, but it is important that you be bold and make a statement. Magnolia spaces or rooms that are gray and white are bland. Nobody will remember those rooms, and you will never make the statement you want to. So why not be bold, and why not use those bright tropical colors you love so much? Your home has to reflect you, and if you simply lift ideas from others (or from show homes or magazines) you will never make a statement, or create a bold space.

2. Add Some Art

When you think of art, you think of expensive pieces hanging in galleries all across the world. However, did you know that you can purchase artwork for your home (even on a budget)? You can bring your home to life with unique pieces from artists you know and love. When it comes to purchasing art on a budget you have to know what you want, and you have to be aware of what you want to purchase. If you are not sure about what you want then spend some time researching new and upcoming artists. Investing in artwork for any room or area within your home is not a decision that you want to rush.

3. Make It Personal

Creating a unique and personal home means that you have to make it as personal as possible. Making a space personal is about more than just using your favorite color on the wall. It is about having the drapes that you want, and it is about using the quirky upcycled furniture that you have been working on for the last few months. Not being afraid to unleash your personality and personal style is important. If you hold back when you are upgrading your home decor you may well find that you regret it later down the line. It may also mean you enjoy the space a lot less, or that you spend less time in it.

4. Use Colors That Excite & Awaken Your Senses

Even if you do not want loud and bright colors on your walls, it does not mean that you cannot use colors that excite you elsewhere. For example, you could add drapes or blinds that are bold, and that makes a statement. Or you could add soft furnishings such as throws, rugs and cushions. If you prefer more muted color schemes for the walls, and the woodwork, then focus on adding colors in the finishing touches.
